How To Use Wood Balm

You know how especially during the winter our hands get so dry and can even crack? Our wooden kitchen utensils and cutting boards can have the same issue! We use lotion to keep our hands hydrated - and for our wooden objects, we use WOOD BALM!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Never place your wooden utensils, cutting boards or charcuterie boards in the dishwasher! The intense heat and water will expedite the drying and cracking! I don’t even let wooden items soak or sit in water. Just wash by hand with warm soapy water and let dry.

  • Every 3-6 months use wood balm to keep the wood hydrated and happy! Use your hands or a cloth to wipe the balm into the wood. You can let it soak in overnight and wipe off any excess in the morning.

  • My Wood Balm is a blend of organic coconut oil and beeswax! But you can use just plain coconut oil or mineral oil too! Be careful not to use olive oil though, as it can go rancid and start to get funky after a while.

Fun Fact!

You can use Wood Balm on your cracked hands too!! Coconut oil has antibacterial properties which can heal cracked hands as well as hydrate them! Feel free to use the Wood Balm on your hands and body, lips and even your furry friend’s paws!
