kayu Collection
The Kayu Collection was designed in Indonesia and inspired by it’s tropical forests - and by my family who live there. “Kayu” (kai-you) is the Indonesian word for wood. This collection incorporates wooden beads sourced from Indonesia as well as other types of wood hand cut in my home studio in Wisconsin.
Batang is the Indonesian word for trunk. These earrings are inspired by the strength of tree trunks. In tropical forests, palm trees can withstand high winds and even remain standing after a cyclone. How? They bend with the wind and the intensity of the storm causes their roots to spread and grow even stronger.
Every time you slip these earrings on, let them remind you of your strength and resiliency, no matter what the storms of life may bring.

Embun is the Indonesian word for dew. There is something magical in watching tiny dew drops beaded up on green leaves. These earrings are just as magical! The dew drop shaped beads made of Bayong wood which I found at a bead shop in Bali.

Sungai is the Indonesian word for river. Rivers flow, connecting and sustaining life throughout the tropical forests of Indonesia. Every time you clasp this necklace, let it remind you of the connections in your life - to friends, family and to the beautiful world around you.
