Make Your Own Room Spray

A while back I was on the hunt for a good room spray… I shopped around for months, sniffing and smelling. Even when I did find ones I liked, I was scared off by either the price point or the list of unpronounceable ingredients. Then I realized I could make my own! I could choose natural ingredients and make any scent I wanted - plus it was more cost effective (and fun to make)! Win, win, win (win)!

I have bottles all over our home with different scents! In our bedroom I use palo santo. For the bathroom I use lavender. And in our workout room I use the spray for cleaning mats and other equipment - for this one I add tea tree oil which has antifungal and antibacterial properties!

Follow these easy directions and enjoy fresh scents throughout your entire home - love is in the air!

SUPPLIES

  • glass spray bottle - found at your local craft store or online - I like using 4oz bottles

  • witch hazel - I use T.N. Dickinson’s brand from Target

  • distilled water

  • essential oil - choose your favorite or try blending scents. I like mixing lavender and bergamot!

  • labels - use any kind of sticker to label the contents of your bottle

DIRECTIONS
Add equal parts witch hazel and distilled water into your spray bottle leaving a little room at the top. Add about 8 drops of essential oil for a 4oz bottle. Feel free to add more or less depending on how potent you want the spray to be.

The witch hazel helps to eliminate odors and combines the oil and water while the essential oil adds a lovely fragrance. Shake the bottle just before spraying!
